Les Minets Sauvages, released in English as Tough and Tender, is finally available to watch online after years of being near impossible to see. The gay porn classic released in 1984 from French director Jean-Daniel Cadinot is now playing on Maleflixxx, who we are happy to report is steadily adding additional films from the director to their library, many of which have not been available in North America since the 1980s on VHS.
Our review of Tough and Tender explains why this film remains so powerfully compelling and sexual, even today. The movie tells the story of a new boy entering a repressive reform school populated by a bullying punks and uncaring administrators. Group power and threats to authority, sexual domination and ownership, and humiliation are all play a part of this stirring X-rated tale.
Cadinot, who was as a true master of the field of erotica, effortlessly channels the homosexual claustrophobia of the boys prison. Perhaps this was his gay porn answer to the French New Wave film The 400 Blows.
