Our friends at XX Factor Magazine just published their list titled Pornstars of the Millennium, which has lots of interesting and valid material. If we were going to create our own similar League of Extraordinarily Horny Gentlemen we’d have almost certainly chosen the first six names on the list, but we would have probably stopped after Francois Sagat.
(Taking Occam’s Razor to Steve Cruz and Damien Crosse is not easy, as they are so hairy. But it’s necessary.)
Michael Brandon, Matthew Rush, Johnny Hazzard, Roman Heart and Brent Corrigan are all guys who would be instantly recognizable amongst most groups of hot-blooded gay men everywhere. Let’s test this: Just ask the person closest to you at the gay bar if they are familiar with one of these names. (You are reading this on your iPhone at the bar right now, aren’t you?)
I’d fall slightly more into Chi Chi’s camp saying that there is a solid argument to be made about Brent Everett’s porn star legacy. (He’s got the mojo!)
Is this porn star stew still tasting bland? Let’s add some spice and throw Tiger Tyson into the bubbly mix.
Also, our list of instantly recognizable porn stars would also include the 21st Century barebacking celebrities Brad McGuire (and almost certainly) the mercurial Jeff Palmer.
Michael Brandon’s Start
Finally, let us offer one small correction to Onan’s list: Brandon did not begin his video career in 1999, technically or otherwise. The first movie I saw him in was way back in 1989 when he popped up in the final episode of a movie called Tender Trick, in which he fucks the Hell out of a butch bronze bottom named Mark Miller. (About half the episodes of Tender Trick are bareback, including this one. This was arguably one of the last tapes produced in California before everything filmed there went condom-only.)
I’m pretty sure that I still have this VHS tape around somewhere, at the time I was in college and dating a guy who worked at the adult video store next to the University of Texas campus. All that’s left of that relationship is a stack of dusty first generation VHS tapes, which includes Tender Trick and some still out of print Jean-Daniel Cadinot movies.
In any case, seeing the proto-Michael Brandon in his tender start heralds a fine group of sexually potent studs; magnificent porn stars the likes of whom are sadly becoming increasingly rare.
